Visiting Clairvaux Historical Farmhouse in the Robertson Wine Valley not only means that you have so many choices of superb wine estates to visit, but there are many other activities and things to see in and around Robertson. Robertson Art Gallery

Our treasured art gallery is situated in the heart of Robertson, along the Breede River Valley. Exhibited pieces include the works of masters and renowned artists, as well as young and upcoming talent.  Apart from the extraordinary selection of art, the gallery also offers a large range of sterling silver jewellery. It is a lovely stop while wandering around town.

Birds Paradise

This little gem of a place is perfect for a day trip. There is much wildlife to see such as birds from Australia to Peru, Central-America to Africa and Asia to Northern Wales, monkeys, crocodiles, waterbirds, and a play park for children. While enjoying the day, the nibbles are sure to entice, there is a restaurant on the premises and pool for the entire family to enjoy.

Owl’s Rest Olive and Lavender Farm

A visit to our beautiful Robertson would not be complete without spending some time at Owls Rest Olive and Lavender farm. Located on Route 62 between Robertson and Ashton and nestled in the foothills of the Langeberg mountains, lies this amazing farm. You will get the opportunity to experience a working farm where Lavender, Rosemary and Rose Geranium are harvested by hand and then steam distilled to extract the essential oils and floral water. These herbal extracts, which are well known for their wonderful fragrance and therapeutic benefits, provide the foundation for the wide range of products sold at the farm. We highly recommend a visit.

Marbrin Olive Farm

We invite you to take a drive to Marbrin Olive Farm and experience a unique, up-close tour of this marvellous farm. Take a guided tour and learn about how olives and olive oils are processed. You’ll be able to taste olive oils, try different cultivars of olives and test a selection of home-made olive tapenades. Experience breathtaking views from the factory’s terrace while enjoying healthy and delicious Mediterranean dishes. If you love all things olive, we suggest popping in at this farm.


Skydive Robertson Dropzone

This one is for the adventurer, adrenalin seeking visitor. Skydive Robertson is situated at Robertson Airfield just east of the picturesque and historic town. Skydive Robertson is the longest running Parachute Association of South Africa (PASA) approved drop-zone in South Africa. Everyone is welcome, from first time jumpers and students through to sports skydivers of all levels of experience from all skydiving disciplines.

Sheilam Cactus Farm

If you love plants as much as we do, we definitely recommend a visit. Established in 1954 Sheilam Cactus and Succulent Nursery is located near Robertson. It boasts approximately 2000 species of plants, the nursery is recognised by authorities as having one of the finest collections of specimen plants. Take a guided tour and learn about the miracles of nature.

Viljoensdrift

Meander down the Breede River aboard the Uncle Ben 2, an impressive flat-bottomed river boat. The cruise is approximately an hour long and the water is flanked by indigenous Breede River Yellowwood and Wild Olive trees, teeming with a variety of bird species. This will surly set the tone for a leisurely riverside experience. Fill a picnic basket with sumptuous treats from the deli and enjoy a picnic during the trip down the river, sipping on one of their delicious wines. We can think of no better way to spend an afternoon.

Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary

If you have a fondness towards animals take a trip to the donkey sanctuary for a morning filled with guided tours. This sanctuary provides a permanent home and love to destitute and rescued donkeys. Here you will find a tranquil haven, a place of healing. The property offers a bistro, curio shop and bird watching. Besides taking the little ones on a tour there are a variety of activities for them to enjoy.

Affieplaas Farm Stall

Everyone loves a farm stall, who could resist a selection of fresh, locally sourced tastiness. This farm stall has been around for close to 30 and is a cherished local spot. Local goods that can be found on its shelves include waterblommetjies, fresh farm breads, pies, traditional desserts, homemade rusks, pickles, jams, quail eggs, chocolate, salami and dried fruits. Local farmers and crafters supply much of the produce being sold at the stall, which means that it is fresh, tasty and uplifts the local community.

There is something to do for everyone in Robertson, whether you are in the mood for a morning of exploring or if you’re up for some adventure. The local spots and farms are sure to keep the whole family entertained. If you want to see the picturesque landscape from the sky visit the drop zone for a different perspective. There is just so much to see and the natural beauty allows you to simply be.
